AISI 309 is known for better strength and oxidation resistance to temperatures as high as 1100 Degrees celcious. Due to its distinct composition it is superior to stainless steel grade 304. It is widely used in oven linings, boiler baffles, fire box sheets, furance components and various other applications. while hot working working temperature of 1200 Degrees celcious is recommended, and rapid quenching is recommended. It has high work hardened rates as this material can be drawn, headed, upset and stamped.
