A chemical analysis shall be employed on each alloy in order to determine its chemical composition. Grain size and mechanical properties like tensile strength, yield strength and elongation shall be measured. A tension test and ultrasonic tests shall be done for each specimen. Values given in Inch-Pound shall be regarded as standard. The values given in parenthesis are mathematical conversions to SI units that are provided for information only.
Inconel Alloy 625 is a Nickel chromium-molybdenum alloy with an addition of niobium that acts with the molybdenum to stiffen the alloy’s matrix and which provides better strength without a strengthening heat treatment. Alloy resists a wide range of extreme corrosive environments and is especially resistant to pitting and crevice corrosion. Used in chemical processing, aerospace and marine engineering, pollution control equipment and nuclear reactors.

Inconel Alloy 686 is an alloy designed for exceptional corrosion resistance in a wide range of extreme environments. The alloy is used in the most extreme environments experienced in chemical processing. Widely used in Pollution control, pulp and paper production and treatment of industrial and municipal wastes. Chemical processing uses include heat exchangers, reaction vessels, evaporates and transfer piping. Air pollution control applications are stack liners, ducts dampers, scrubbers, stack-gas preheaters, fans and housings.
Inconel alloy 690 is a high chromium Inconel with excellent resistance to many corrosive aqueous media and high temperature atmosphere. Its high chromium content gives it excellent resistance to aqueous corrosion by oxidising acids (especially nitric acid) and salts and to sulphidation at high temperatures. In addition to its corrosion resistance, Alloy 690 has high strength, good metallurgical stability and favourable fabrication characteristics.
Inconel 718 is a precipitation harden able Nickel chromium alloy with significant amount of iron niobium molybdenum with lesser amount of titanium and aluminium. It has corrosion resistance and high strength with very good weld ability including resistance to post weld cracking. it has good creep rupture strength at 1300 Degrees Fahrenheit. Mostly used in gas turbines, rocket motors, spacecraft’s, nuclear reactors, pumps and toolings.
Inconel 800 is A Nickel chromium alloy with good strength and better resistance to oxidation and carburisation in high temperature environments. It resists corrosion by many aqueous environments. Alloy has a stable, austenitic structure during prolonged exposure to higher temperatures. Mostly used for process piping, heat exchangers, carburizing equipment, heating element sheathing and nuclear steam-generator tubing.
