High nuts have similar features as hex nuts however, they are thicker than standard hex nuts. They offer increased thread engagement with bolt or screw. Height provides more surface area for wrenching and it is the main reason they are mostly used in vehicles and most other industrial application. high nuts with lock washer is a very good fastening combination.
