Keps nut are hex nuts with exteral tooths facing outwards. They are used with lock washer so as the nut turns it bites into melting surface as a nut is tightened. Theyb are widely used in industrial applications. Keps nuts are known by different names such as captive washer lock nuts, K Lock nut.
