Alloy 255 is a highly alloyed (ferrite-austenite) steel which provides superior corossion resistance. It has various cost effective applications in chemical, metalurgical, sanitation, pollution contriol industry. Some of the features of alloy 255 are resistance to pitting, crevice corossion, chloride stress corossion cracking, ductility, fabricability. It has twice the yeild of austenitic steels, and high fatigue strengths in marine environments. It is widely used in pumps, shafts, valves, down hole applications etc.
